Check Out Your Neighbor's Yard Sale

Yard sale a shock for woman

Neighbor was selling her stolen goods, police say

By Andrea F. Siegel Baltimore Sun reporter

August 12, 2009

A woman whose home was burglarized as she stayed with her daughter was shocked to spot her belongings offered at a neighbor's yard sale, Anne Arundel County police say.

The woman recognized an array of her items - including Christmas decorations, Beanie Babies, an Oriental rug and a dresser - being sold by a man who was wearing one of her T-shirts, charging documents say.

Police said they found $25,000 worth of her clothes, furnishings and other possessions - even a fur coat - on the property.

The victim, who has been living with her daughter for several months while her home is in foreclosure, discovered Thursday that her house had been burglarized. On Saturday, she and her daughter were on the way to the house in the 800 block of Reece Road in Severn to inventory the missing items before calling police.

When they spotted the yard sale nearby, they "were shocked to realize that every item" came from the victim's house, according to charging documents.

Stunned, the women stopped and told the seller he was peddling the woman's stolen goods. He admitted that the merchandise was hers, not his, and she called police, court papers say.

The officer who responded saw a front yard, and later a porch, with towels, kitchen knives, a ceiling fan, shelving, telephones, in-line skates, dishes, an exercise bike and more - all of which the woman said came from her home.

The seller told police that he bought the woman's belongings for $100 from a man who came by a few times, most recently about three weeks ago, in an aqua-colored pickup truck, according to charging documents.

The officer, however, suspected that the seller had looted what he thought was an abandoned home. Asked if he had more of the woman's belongings than what was offered for sale, he pointed to a blue tarp on the porch that covered more of her possessions, including heaters, silverware and the fur coat, police allege. Detectives searched the home and found more, police said.

The woman's belongings were returned to her.

Police charged David Anthony Perticone, 46, of the 800 block of Reece Road, with burglary and theft. He was out of jail in lieu of $80,000 bail, according to court records. Attempts to reach him Tuesday were unsuccessful.

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama will recognize the accomplishments of actors, activists and athletes on Wednesday when he awards the Presidential Medal of Freedom to 16 people.

Film star Sidney Poitier, civil rights icon the Rev. Joseph Lowery and tennis legend Billie Jean King are among those set to receive the medal, the nation's highest civilian honor.

Other recipients include Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., who has been battling brain cancer, former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and retired Anglican Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa.

Obama, awarding his first presidential medals, also will make posthumous awards to former Republican Rep. Jack Kemp of New York, the quarterback-turned-politician who died in May, and gay rights activist Harvey Milk, who was assassinated in 1978.

The recipients have diverse backgrounds and achievements in fields ranging from sports and art to science and medicine to politics and public policy. The White House has said the individuals were selected for their work as "agents of change."

President Harry S. Truman established the Medal of Freedom in 1945 to recognize civilians for their efforts during World War II. President John F. Kennedy reinstated the medal in 1963 to honor distinguished service.

The other recipients are:

— Nancy Brinker, founder of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a leading breast cancer grass-roots organization.

— Dr. Pedro Jose Greer Jr., assistant dean of academic affairs at Florida International University School of Medicine.

— Stephen Hawking, the Cambridge University physicist and mathematician known for his work on black holes and his best-selling 1988 book "A Brief History of Time." He has been almost completely paralyzed for years and communicates through an electronic voice synthesizer.

Obama's Seven Deadly Political Sins

In the early days of Barack Obama's presidency, his approval rating soared to dizzying heights as many Americans thought we had entered a new era of hope, change, unity, bipartisanship and uplifting speeches. Then, Obama moved on to actual governance and suddenly, for the first time in his political career, he had to primarily rely on his unproven leadership skills instead of his soaring oratory. That hasn't worked out so well for him because he has engaged in seven deadly political sins:

Partisanship: After 16 years of ugly political battles during the Clinton and Bush presidencies, Americans were ready for a President who'd actually be able to get Republicans and Democrats to work together. Like McCain, who, love him or hate him, is a true bipartisan reformer, Obama constantly talked about unity during the campaign. However, once Obama was elected, the idea of cooperating with the other side went right out the window. Republicans were locked out of having any significant input on legislation as Obama decided to rely completely on his own party to get his agenda passed.

Typical of that attitude is this statement from Obama:

But I don't want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don't mind cleaning up after them, but don't do a lot of talking." -- Barack Obama

There's nothing new about hamfisted partisanship in American politics, but if you practice it after running a campaign where you repeat the word "unity" so often that you sound like a parrot with a one word vocabulary, don't expect people to be happy with you.

Racialism: Many Americans believed Barack Obama's election would lead the country into a post-racial world. After all, Obama's rhetoric during the campaign was very different from previous "black leaders" like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Besides, if a black man could become President, how racist could the country really be?

However, that wonderful dream has turned into a nightmare since Obama was elected. His supporters are frivolously crying "racism" about everything from Obama Joker posters to Obamacare. Obama's Attorney General, Eric Holder, referred to America as "a nation of cowards" on matters of race. Even the man himself waded into controversy by suggesting race might be involved in the arrest of Henry Louis Gates despite admitting that he didn't know "all the facts." The last thing most Americans thought they were doing when they voted for Obama was increasing how often the word "racist" was going to be errantly tossed around.

Lying: Bill Clinton was a shameless liar, but he was smooth about it. There's a reason so many people refer to the man as "Slick Willie." Obama, on the other hand, is so confident that the media will stick by him that he will blatantly contradict his earlier statements and just expect the press to simply cover for him. While that's exactly what happens most of the time, all it seems to be doing over the long run is destroying the credibility of Obama and the mainstream press at the same time. That's because eventually, when Obama's lies come to light, they're so flagrant that they're almost impossible to ignore or explain away.

Radicalism: In America, distrust of government is as American as apple pie and as sensible as locking your door at night. So, when the government runs up unsustainable deficits, takes over GM and Chrysler, and attempts to swallow our entire health care system, people naturally get frightened and angry. That has a lot to do with the outrage that we're seeing at these Townhall meetings and it's definitely hurting Obama's popularity.

Liberalism: Most Americans thought Obama had much more in common ideologically with Bill Clinton than Jimmy Carter. However, instead of a President steering the ship of state a bit to the left-of-center, Americans got a President who seems determined to take the country as far to the Left as he can, as fast as he can, preferably without any debate about the subject. Contrary to liberal opinion, this is a center-right country. Most Americans don't share the ideological views of Ted Kennedy and they don't want to see the United States turned into Venezuela or the Soviet Union, circa 1975. That bodes ill for a man who has already proven to be the most liberal President we've ever had in the White House.

Greed: In all fairness to Barack Obama, given that the Left has what may be once in a lifetime margins in the House and Senate, it makes a certain kind of sense to try to ram as much of their agenda through as possible while the Right doesn't have the numbers to try and stop them.

However, when you try to sledgehammer through an enormous number of radical, extremely liberal bills in a center right country that dislikes radicalism and rapid change, you're going to pay a steep price in popularity. It's like the old saying goes, "Pigs get fed, hogs get slaughtered." Barack Obama is being a hog about his agenda and he's started to get slaughtered at the polls as a result.

Arrogance: Whether it's Obama smugly saying "I won" to a Republican who had concerns about handing out a "tax credit for people who don't pay income taxes" or his administration's willingness to openly admit that they were exploiting the economic crisis to get Obama's agenda through -- "Never let a serious crisis go to waste" -- Obama's presidency has been marked by a stunning pomposity. As Kathryn Jean Lopez noted, "For Barack Obama, democracy appears to be a distraction. He really does seem to view himself as a Caesar." The American people want a President who views himself as their servant, not a king who wants to lecture the peasants about what he views as "teachable moments."

Hillary Loses Her Cool

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's temper flared on Monday when a Congolese university student asked her for her husband's thinking on an international financial matter.

A week after former President Bill Clinton traveled to North Korea to secure the release of two detained American journalists and stole the limelight from the start of his wife's first trip to Africa, Clinton was clearly displeased by the question at town hall forum in Kinshasa.

"You want me to tell you what my husband thinks?" she replied incredulously when the male student asked her what "Mr. Clinton" thought of World Bank concerns about a multi-billion-dollar Chinese loan offer to the Congo.

"My husband is not secretary of state, I am," an obviously annoyed Clinton said sharply. "If you want my opinion, I will tell you my opinion. I am not going to be channeling my husband." Full story >>

Virginia Blogger Arrested for Posting Public Documents

A persistent blogger annoys police -- and winds up in jail
A 34-YEAR-OLD woman, the mother of a 12-year-old girl, has been locked up in a Virginia jail for three weeks and could remain there for at least another month. Her crime? Blogging about the police

Elisha Strom, who appears unable to make the $750 bail, was arrested outside Charlottesville on July 16 when police raided her house, confiscating notebooks, computers and camera equipment. Although the Charlottesville police chief, Timothy J. Longo Sr., had previously written to Ms. Strom warning her that her blog posts were interfering with the work of a local drug enforcement task force, she was not charged with obstruction of justice or any similar offense. Rather, she was indicted on a single count of identifying a police officer with intent to harass, a felony under state law.

It's fair to say that Ms. Strom was unusually focused on the Jefferson Area Drug Enforcement task force, a 14-year-old unit drawn mainly from the police departments of Charlottesville, Albemarle County and the University of Virginia. (Her blog at http://iheartejade.blogspot.com, expresses the view that the task force is "nothing more than a group of arrogant thugs.") In a nearly year-long barrage of blog posts, she published snapshots she took in public of many or most of the task force's officers; detailed their comings and goings by following them in her car; mused about their habits and looks; hinted that she may have had a personal relationship with one of them; and, in one instance, reported that she had tipped off a local newspaper about their movements.

Predictably, this annoyed law enforcement officials, who, it's fair to guess, comprised much of her readership before her arrest. But what seems to have sent them over the edge -- and skewed their judgment -- is Ms. Strom's decision to post the name and address of one of the officers with a street-view photo of his house.

All this information was publicly available, including the photograph, which Ms. Strom gleaned from municipal records. The task force's officers may have worked undercover on occasion, but one wonders about their undercover abilities, given that Ms. Strom was able to out them so consistently. Chief Longo warned Ms. Strom that her blog posts were scaring off informants and endangering the officers and their families, but he provided no evidence. At no point did Ms. Strom's blog express a threat, explicit or otherwise, to police or their sources.

Ms. Strom is not the most sympathetic symbol of free-speech rights. She has previously advocated creating a separate, all-white nation, and her blog veers from the whimsical to the self-righteous to the bizarre. But the real problem here is the Virginia statute, in which an overly broad, ill-defined ban on harassment-by-identification, specifically in regard to police officers, seems to criminalize just about anything that might irritate targets.

It should not be a crime to annoy the cops, whose raid on Ms. Strom's house looks more like a fit of pique than an act of law enforcement. Some of her postings may have consisted of obnoxious speech, but they were nonetheless speech and constitutionally protected. That would hold true right up through her last blog post, written as the police raid on her home began at 7 a.m.: "Uh-Oh They're Here."

Why did Bill Clinton Go to Korea and not Hillary?

If you watch this video the answer is simple. They did not want her there.

Pentagon: Congressional Jets Hurt Defense

The Pentagon is criticizing the House of Representative's request to upgrade Congress' air fleet -- and charge the cost to the Defense Department.

"It forces us to take money from things we do need to fund and redirect it for things we don't need," Geoff Morrell, a spokesman for Defense Secretary Robert Gates, told the Wall Street Journal. "And in a time of war, we just can't afford that. The bottom line is, for everything that they appropriate for us above and beyond what we've asked for, it will, at some point require us to find money from programs we do need."

Lawmakers slipped the request into the Pentagon's proposed budget for 2010, insisting that Congress' current fleet of executive jets is old and more expensive to operate that newer, more efficient planes. They also say lawmakers use the jets only 14.5 percent of the time, compared to 44 percent usage by military members.

President Barack Obama sent Congress a Pentagon budget of $640.1 billion, which the House adjusted and scaled back to $636.3 billion. During that process, members requested $550 million to purchase eight passenger jets. Obama originally sought only $220 million to buy four planes.

Sen Ben Cardin on the Health Care Issue

They began arriving four hours early, ignoring triple-digit heat-index levels for a chance to hoot and holler at Sen. Benjamin L. Cardin's health-care town hall meeting Monday night.

Outspoken opponents of the Democratic overhaul plan, which Cardin supports, vented their hostility at the first-term senator. In an echo of similar events around the country, most of those in the capacity crowd at Towson University were clearly hostile to the reform proposal and dismissive of Cardin's attempts to defend it.

"I know some of you don't want me to mention the facts, but listen to the facts," the senator said early on, drawing an angry response from opponents in the room and applause from supporters - who were both outshouted and outnumbered.
Rest of the story............www.baltimoresun.com.

But wait!! You haven't read the best part! Cardin had organized "backup".

Cardin staff working with SEIU/ACORN to generate pro-reform turnout tonight?

Erick Erickson

Below is an email chain forwarded to me. It originated with a Ben Cardin staffer. The Cardin staff is desperate to make his Senate townhall tonight look like a rally for Obamacare.

Isn’t this astroturfing, Senator? You, a United States Senator, using a network of liberals to gin up support for Obamacare?

And let’s put this in perspective: This means Senator Ben Cardin supports Obamacare and knows he can’t vote for it without an astrotruf campaign of his own.

Note that the original message at the bottom was sent by Rev. Jerome Stephens,
Statewide Field Representative for Senator Ben Cardin to Denise Riley at the AFL-CIO. Riley’s assistant Kim Tucker then blasted it out.

If you are in Maryland, show up tonight.

Note that SEIU and ACORN are sponsors.

President Obama Hung in Effigy?

Although in extremely poor taste I have not read a word about Obama being hung in effigy until today. I came across this picture of the President hung in effigy.

I know we have a freedom of speech and these things fall into that category but that does not excuse the symbolism of hanging anyone in effigy.

I dislike the policies of the left and our President is a radical liberal that attended church with a racist preacher (Rev. Wright) and they both have deep seeded roots of the hatred of the white race even though the POTUS's mother was white he explains his (Obama) hatred of the white race very clearly in his first book.

Impeach him? YES, hang him? (even in effigy) NOPE. It's a respect/moral thing. Even the left has morals for the likes of hanging in effigy.

'Nazi' Keith Olberman calls concerned seniors "Political Terrorist"

It amazes me that the liberal left actually think this Nazi, Olberman, is real MSM.
This is the guy that went to a baseball game when his own mother passed away, then lied about it until a picture of him at the game surfaced then he made all kinds of excuses including, that was his way of dealing with his mothers death.

The Godless Nazi Olberman and his colleague Rachael Madcow will say or do anything to tear this nation down and the liberal brain dead follow their lead.

Lets review this clip of Nazi Olberman.

Did you watch it?

1st, Olberman says, the "minority" (conservatives) "act out in anger" well, Mr Nazi Olberman... it's the left that are "acting out in anger" as the more intelligent people of this great nation peacefully protest.

2nd, Olberman calls the people that appose the Hussein healthcare bill terrorist. Again, there's the Nazi Olbermans double standard. It was the left that portrayed Bush as Hitler, Bush as Hitler was published on the cover of a popular left wing magazine. Nazi Olberman has stooped to a new low, MSNBC will not even call the terrorist (radical Islam) by the label "terrorist" but they have no problem calling anyone that opposes their messiah mostly senior citizens "terrorist"

3rd, Nazi Olberman says republicans call this a "death panel" again, a spin of loony liberal talking points taken out of context.

4th Nazi Olberman talks about the arrest of the unruly crowd of a couple people at a protest, what he lacks to tell you is they people arrested were liberal union democrat thugs that attacked people with opposing views.

5th, Nazi Olberman for some reason thinks that the guy with the Blue cross/Blue shield shirt for some reason needs to hide the fact that he works for a insurance company. Nazi Olberman must be a mind reader to know where this guy works, even if he does work for BC/BS so what? That's like thinking that a mechanic that works for GM is controlling the people to vote for a bailout. Then Nazi Olberman goes on to say the guy is stupid. There's that liberal double standard again.

5th, Nazi Olberman then states that Heather Blish is lying about not being affiliated with the Republican party, Hey Nazi Olberman... she said she was in the past, then you confirm that but deny it. We are in the 8th month of 2009, so maybe she should have counted the days and hours since her affiliation HUH?

6th, Nazi Olberman says the protesters believe the bill supports "forced euthanasia" but not once do you hear anyone say that word. On the other hand it is obvious to anyone with 1/2 a brain cell that the Godless Nazi Olberman is using his own personal double standard now..He calls the peaceful speaker "a meth addict" and after all did he unplug his mother, then go to a baseball game to enjoy the rest of the week?

7th, Nazi Olberman brings in the ultra liberal Johnathan Alter and supports his (olbermans) agenda by trying to brainwash his viewers into believing this "forced euthanasia" bull crap again. Taking a Palin quote out of context and calling the ex-governor of Alaska "stoned" then he corrects that by saying "that would be an insult to stoner's" whaaaat?? is that that ugly radical neo-liberal double standard again?

That's a short synopsis of the leader of the loony lefts talking head Nazi Olberman way of thinking and his brainwashing techniques. Thankfully most of the left do not have enough brain to wash by the likes of that hypocrite, Godless Nazi Olberman.

Thank goodness that Bill O'Rielly Fox News(even though he leans a bit left of center) beats the pants off MSNBC's Countdown by about 100 to 1 viewers.
Why is it Nazi Olberman and His lesbo buddy Rachael MadCow never talk about the owner of NBC and that is .....GE, that's right, one of the largest energy using, polluting, carbon emitting etc. etc. companies (in Nazi Olbermans words) IN...THE... WOOOOORLD..... a lot of GE's plants are still non-union LOL.

Lobbyists Paid $1 Million to Honor Obama

Lobbyists and special interests spent more than $1 million during the first half of this year to honor an individual seen as critical of the lobbying industry: President Barack Obama.

During the presidential campaign, Obama said he would not accept contributions from lobbyists and vowed that "they won't find a job in my White House."

On his first day in office, Obama drafted an executive order limiting his hiring of lobbyists, and strengthened a ban on lobbyists' gifts to executive officials, The Hill newspaper reported.

But lobbying organizations and corporations paid for festivities surrounding Obama's inauguration and for events taking place after he entered the White House. Ford Motor Co., for example, spent $105,000 to help sponsor the NAACP's convention in July. Obama spoke at the annual affair.

Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, a key player in the healthcare reform process, gave $20,000 to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation in honor of Obama.

Recently released records required under ethics laws show that trade associations, companies and individual lobbyists spent more than $495,000 in honor of Obama, his wife Michelle, and Vice President Joe Biden.

Firms and lobbyists also reported spending more than $700,000 on events surrounding the inauguration, according to The Hill, which noted, "Only the entities and individuals registered to lobby have to file a disclosure report, which means the total amount companies spent on the inauguration and other events could be much higher."

Lobbyists have been flush with cash to spend on such events. As the Insider Report disclosed two weeks ago, lobbying firms filed reports showing that some enjoyed sharply increased earnings in the first half of 2009.

Illegals Cost $11 Billion a Year for Healthcare

The cost of providing illegal aliens with medical care amounts to nearly $11 billion a year — and that expense is not expected to go away if a healthcare insurance reform bill is passed.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told CNN's John King recently that illegal immigrants would not be covered under the reform being pushed by Democrats.

King asked, "And so what happens to a public hospital if they walk into the emergency room?"

Pelosi responded: "I do know that the law requires that if somebody comes in off the street and needs care, that is extended.

"What we see in this legislation is that people will have access to affordable healthcare, and it will diminish the number of people going into those private, public hospitals in the manner in which you described."

That statement makes little sense in light of Pelosi's assertion that illegals would not be covered, since in that case they would not be any less likely to seek care in an emergency room.

The Federation for American Immigration Reform's Director of Special Projects Jack Martin told CNSNews.com that illegal immigrants cost federal and state governments an estimated $10.7 billion a year in healthcare spending, including the cost of so-called "anchor babies" — children born to illegal immigrant parents in U.S. hospitals.

Those babies are technically U.S. citizens, but Martin pointed out that taxpayers would never have had to pay their mothers' medical bills if they had not entered the U.S. illegally.

Each anchor baby costs taxpayers about $10,000 on average, according to Martin, and these costs are paid through Medicaid.

The cost of emergency room care for adults is borne primarily by the states. Martin calculated that states pay a total of nearly $7 billion a year on healthcare for their illegal immigrants.

A study by the Center for Immigration Studies came up with a similar figure.

President Barack Obama, as well as Pelosi, has said illegal aliens won't be covered by a healthcare reform plan.

But on July 17, Democrats successfully defeated a Republican-backed amendment, offered by Rep. Dean Heller of Nevada, that would have prevented illegal aliens from receiving government-subsidized healthcare under the proposed plan backed by House Democrats and Obama.

The House Ways and Means Committee nixed the Heller amendment by a 26-to-15 vote along straight party lines.

MADD Mad Over Obama's 'Beer Summit'

The so-called "beer summit" that President Barack Obama recently hosted at the White House has sparked a dispute between Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the alcoholic beverage industry.

Obama hosted the meeting over beers in the White House Rose Garden to smooth over any lingering hard feelings between Harvard professor Henry Gates Jr. and Cambridge police Sgt .James Crowley, who had arrested Gates at Gates' home.

After the meeting, the head of MADD's Delaware chapter, Nancy Raynor, said in an interview with station WDEL-AM in Wilmington, Del., "It's a well known fact that young people tend to mimic the actions they see of the adults."

The station summarized Raynor's comments as suggesting that convening the men over beer "could be a bad influence," Politico reported.

Sarah Longwell of the American Beverage Institute responded in a statement e-mailed to reporters: "MADD is no longer an organization that opposes drunk driving, but an anti-alcohol group that has been hijacked by the modern day temperance movement.

"That someone in a position of leadership at MADD would criticize President Obama for simply drinking beer illustrates the neoprohibitionist mentality that now dominates the group.

"MADD should return to its original mission of stopping drunk driving. The more time and resources the group spends pushing an anti-alcohol agenda, the more irrelevant it becomes."

Raynor told Politico about the group's statement, "This is very upsetting. I am trying to do the right thing, and this is what happens."

Obama Under Attack by Jewish Coalition Over Medal Nominee

The Republican Jewish Coalition has issued a statement criticizing President Barack Obama's decision to award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Mary Robinson.

Robinson, president of Ireland from 1990 to 1997, served as United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and was secretary-general of the 2001 World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance in Durban, South Africa.

"Mary Robinson, who was one of the people responsible for the 2001 Durban conference against racism descending into an anti-Israel propaganda forum, is not an appropriate recipient for one of our nation's highest honors," said Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) Executive Director Matt Brooks in the statement.

"In fact, awarding the Medal of Freedom to Mary Robinson does great dishonor to the many outstanding men and women who have received it in the past."

The U.S. withdrew from the Durban conference in protest of its staunchly anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic declarations. Secretary of State Colin Powell said at the time: "I know that you do not combat racism by conferences that produce declarations containing hateful language, some of which is a throwback to the days of 'Zionism equals racism'; or supports the idea that we have made too much of the Holocaust; or suggests that apartheid exists in Israel; or that singles out only one country in the world, Israel, for censure and abuse."

Brooks said, "We're troubled that the White House chooses to minimize the very real controversy about Mary Robinson. It's wrong for the United States to honor someone who led a meeting that our nation boycotted.

"She had the opportunity to fight for good — by resisting the effort to turn the Durban conference into a swamp of anti-Semitic and anti-Israel propaganda. She not only failed to resist it, she facilitated it. That President Obama wishes to honor Mary Robinson in this way is profoundly disturbing."

In announcing that Robinson, now a professor at Columbia University, would receive the medal along with 15 others on Aug. 12, White House spokesman Tommy Vietor said: "Mary Robinson has dedicated her career to human rights . . . As with any public figure, we don't necessarily agree with every statement she has ever made, but it's clear that she has been an agent of change and a fighter for good."

Past recipients of the Medal of Freedom include Rosa Parks, Jeane Kirkpatrick, Elie Wiesel, Mother Teresa, Simon Wiesenthal, Natan Sharansky, Tony Blair, and Margaret Thatcher.

The RJC statement also noted that in April 2002, Robinson's U.N. commission voted to condone suicide bombings as a legitimate means to establish a Palestinian state.

Nazi Nancy Pelosi and the Huffington Post

As the neo-libs like Nazi Pelosi keep spreading their hate and blame along with falsehoods like cropped photos and out of context comments they do not realize they are digging their own grave. We know liberal democrats have never been known for their intelligence from pot smoking LSD using brain dead hippy baby-boomer's, they just keep adding to their extremely hypocritical display.

This video has and shows many valid points of the lefts double standard that I challenge one, just one lib to dispute. I know, I know, It's impossible that the left have the intelligence to even make-up something to counter this. UNLESS, it comes from the Hussein Obama play book, (Alinsky)

RECREATIONAL BOAT STRANDED SINCE MONDAY

CHINCOTEAGUE

The Coast Guard is trying to come up with a plan to keep a stranded boat from harming the environment around Assateague Island National Seashore.

About 9,500 gallons of diesel fuel already has been removed from the 78-foot Frieda Marie, a recreational boat with three crew members. It ran aground near Chincoteague Inlet about 3 a.m. Monday, the Coast Guard said.

The fuel was pumped from the boat by a contractor. “We wanted to make sure that we got all the fuel off. That way if anything were to happen it has minimal impact to the environment,” said Petty Officer Andrew Kendrick, a Coast Guard spokesman.

“It’s a national seashore right there and there’s a threatened species, the piping plovers.”

The boat has a hole in it, the Coast Guard said, and water is being continuously pumped off the boat. The Coast Guard plans to repair the boat and remove it.

GOP RESPONSE

RICHMOND

Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell on Saturday delivered the GOP response to President Barack Obama's weekly radio and Internet address.

In the address, Obama argued that overhauling the health care system is essential to the country's economic well-being, using better-than-expected jobs numbers to press his top domestic priority.

Republicans countered that the high unemployment rate — 9.4 percent in July — shows how families and businesses are struggling and that Obama's reliance on a large government role in expanding health coverage is the wrong approach.

A net total of 247,000 jobs were lost last month, the fewest in a year and a drastic improvement from the 443,000 that vanished in June as the U.S. tries to pull out from the worst recession in decades.

"We've begun to put the brakes on this recession and ... the worst may be behind us," Obama said in his weekly radio and Internet address Saturday. He cited Friday's Labor Department report that showed a dip in unemployment, but said, "We must do more than rescue our economy from this immediate crisis. We must rebuild it stronger than before."

He added: "We must lay a new foundation for future growth and prosperity, and a key pillar of a new foundation is health insurance reform."

Countering the Democratic position, Bob McDonnell, the Republican nominee for Virginia governor, argued that the new Labor Department report was "yet another reminder that families and small businesses are struggling as unemployment remains high."

In the GOP's response address, McDonnell sought to draw distinctions between Republicans and Democrats on economic and health care policy.

"As Republicans, we believe you create jobs by keeping taxes and regulation low, and litigation at a minimum. Americans succeed when government puts in place positive policies that encourage more freedom, and more opportunity," he said.

McDonnell also said that, unlike Democrats, Republicans are committed to helping the uninsured — "not through nationalizing the system with a costly government-run plan, but rather by supporting free-market incentives and helping small-business owners make coverage more accessible and affordable, and ensuring that Americans can keep their individual private policies."

In his response, McDonnell also discussed his concerns over the federal cap-and-trade legislation, which he said would amount to a "new national energy tax." He said officials at the Mead Westvaco plant in Covington told him two weeks ago that the legislation would threaten almost 1,500 jobs.

McDonnell is facing Democratic opponent Creigh Deeds, who this week held a fundraiser in Northern Virginia featuring Obama. In a statement, Deeds said that McDonnell is focusing on federal issues rather than issues facing Virginia.

HUH??? READ THAT AGAIN PLEASE

While traveling home this evening, my husband and I took a different route so I could see what the new message was on this guys board. I don't know this person but from time to time he does post some whacky things. The road we were on leads to a well known camp ground and is seen, I am sure, by hundreds of people.

I don't know if he is fighting any personal demons or not but it isn't exactly good advise.

Meltdown: Democratic Congressman David Scott of Georgia Goes Berserk at Town Hall

Do these people know they work for us? The AARP blew the people off and cut the meeting when the questions got tough. Now this typical liberal democrat goes berserk on a Dr that asked a question, the demwit didn't even know if he was going to vote on the socialist health care bill and had to ask his aide.

NOTE TO ALL POLITICIANS; We voted you in, we WILL vote you out.

Media Ignore Pelosi Nazi Comparison, But come out swinging on Rush

The mainstream media were quick to jump all over conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh when he likened President Barack Obama's healthcare logo to a swastika and compared the Democrats to the Nazis.

They were much quieter about Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's reference to a swastika when she claimed that hecklers at a pro-Obamacare town hall meeting were carrying swastikas.

During her recent visit to a San Francisco hospital, a San Francisco Chronicle reporter asked her whether there is "legitimate grass-roots opposition" to the Democrats' healthcare plan.

"I think they are Astroturf," she responded.

Then she referred to hecklers at a town hall meeting: "They're carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on healthcare."

The Chronicle report on the hospital visit did not report the swastika comment.

Fox News and Newsmax were among the media that did report Pelosi's comment.

But when Limbaugh made similar comments Thursday, he set off a media firestorm.

Limbaugh told his radio audience: "Obama's got a healthcare logo that's right out of Adolf Hitler's playbook.

"Now, what are the similarities between the Democrat Party of today and the Nazi Party in Germany? Well, the Nazis were against big business — they hated big business . . . They were insanely, irrationally against pollution . . . They had a whole bunch of make-work projects to keep people working . . . They were for abortion and euthanasia of the undesirables, as we all know, and they were for cradle-to-grave nationalized healthcare."

Limbaugh's remarks got such wide play that, for a time on Thursday, "Obama's healthcare logo" was the No. 1 search term on Google, according to Newsweek. The magazine pointed out that the logo for Obama's Organizing for Healthcare effort incorporates the caduceus, the ancient Greek symbol for medicine.

The Chicago Tribune was among the media attacking Limbaugh for his comments, citing a report that Wednesday's program "couldn't have been angrier, more mendacious, or more venomous" and adding that Thursday's show "surpassed even that for pure divisive poison as Limbaugh played an entire deck of Hitler cards."

The Boston Globe said Limbaugh's remarks were part of "the increasingly vicious war over healthcare," and quoted a Democratic official who said his statement was "as disgusting as it is shocking." The article made no mention of Pelosi's earlier remark about swastikas.

A U.S. News & World Report article called Rush's remarks "mind-numbingly nonsensical," but did not mention Pelosi's comment.

Politico.com quoted a Democratic congressman who asserted that Limbaugh with his remarks has treated Holocaust survivors "with vile contempt."

Citizen's cellphones confiscated during Michelle Obama visit to burger joint

Evolved-------------------------------------->

I would have been in trouble here, they would NOT get my phone without a court order. This is the typical LEFT wing radicals we have in the white house. Not to mention they have no regard for our rights per the U.S. constitution, but then again some of us knew that before we pulled the lever.

MICHELLE Obama, like her husband, enjoys a good burger, but not as well done. The first lady brought daughters Malia and Sasha to former "Top Chef" contestant Spike Mendelsohn'sGood Stuff Eatery in DC for cheeseburgers, onion rings, fries, and milkshakes. "They got the burgers medium," says a spy. (President Obama was mildly ridiculed after ordering a burger medium-well in January.) "Three starving Secret Service guys were literally standing over the grill as Spike made the burgers, but didn't eat," our source adds. Fellow patrons had their cellphones temporarily confiscated to prevent pictures from being taken.

Congressman Gets Death Threat

Congressman gets death
threat

Washington (AP) - A North Carolina congressman who supports an overhaul of the health care system had his life threatened by a caller upset that he was not holding a public forum on the proposal, his office said Friday.

Democratic Rep. Brad Miller received the call Monday, one of hundreds the congressman's office has received demanding a town-hall meeting on the health care proposal, said his spokeswoman, LuAnn Canipe. She said the callers were "trying to instigate town halls so they can show up and disrupt."

"We had one of those kind of calls that escalated to what we considered a threat" on the congressman's life, said Canipe. "These are some strong-arm tactics, and we are trying to deal with and trying to talk to people in good faith about health care reform."

Miller never had plans to hold a town-hall meeting during the August recess, Canipe said. Instead, he was sitting down with smaller groups of people to discuss the plan. During one of those smaller gatherings on Friday, hundreds of people from a group called Triangle Conservatives peacefully protested at Miller's Raleigh office.

The threatening caller, when told by a staffer that Miller was not planning a meeting, claimed the congressman didn't want to meet with people face to face because he knew it would cost him his life, according to Canipe. The staffer then asked if the caller was making a threat. The caller, said Canipe, replied that there are a lot of angry people out there.

The U.S. Capitol Police confirmed Friday they were looking into a threat against a congressman, but wouldn't provide further details.

Chelsea Wedding Proposal: Those 40 Goats and 20 Cows for Hillary and Bill Are Still on Offer

Hillary Clinton promised a Kenyan man to pass along his ''very kind offer'' of 40 goats and 20 cows for her daughter Chelsea Clinton's hand in marriage.

Godwin Kipkemoi Chepkurgor, a man of modest means, originally made the offer in a letter to Bill Clinton when all three Clintons traveled to Africa in 2000. He has not given up hope, telling CNN, "I've waited for a long time. I'm still waiting to meet her and express my love for her."

But Chepkurgor may be running out of time, as rumors abound that Chelsea, 29, is marrying her boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky at the end of August on Martha's Vineyard. Hillary Clinton has repeatedly denied rumors that her daughter plans to get married this summer.

At a town hall in Kenya on Thursday, CNN's Fareed Zakaria said to the secretary of state, "A Kenyan city councilman said he offered Bill Clinton 40 goats and 20 cows for his daughter's hand in marriage five years ago; he is still awaiting an answer. I thought on this occasion, if you think in the current global economic climate . . . it's not a bad offer?"

"Well my daughter is her own person. She is very independent, so I will convey this very kind offer," responded a smiling Clinton, drawing applause from the audience.

PETA Unhappy Meals Targeting Kids

PETA is at it again, this is the second time in a month they have targeted kids for their warped agenda. Just a couple of weeks ago they were handing kids pamphlets of slain animals with graphic pictures not suitable for children.

NOW, this.

Kids hoping to grab a Happy Meal from McDonald's might end up with PETA's Unhappy Meal instead. The animal rights organization lifted its moratorium on the McCruelty Campaign this year and since June has distributed Chicken McCruelty Unhappy Meals to McDonald's customers outside about a dozen restaurants around the country."McDonald's markets its food to children by packaging it in brightly colored boxes with toys," Lindsay Rajt, a spokeswoman for PETA, tells Slashfood.

"But most kids really love animals, and if they knew that McDonald's suppliers were breaking the wings and legs of gentle animals like chickens, I think that you'd have to drag kids into McDonald's kicking and screaming.

"The campaign, though, has parents "hatin' it."A PETA protest of a McDonald's in Albany, N.Y., upset parents on Thursday, WXXA-TV reports."I don't want my son to be around something like this," parent Stephanie Gipson told the station. "This is not fair for a child."But Rajt says children have seen worse things than PETA's Unhappy Meal, which comes "stained with blood" and containing a bloody rubber chicken, a cutout of a knife-wielding Ronald McDonald, photos of mutilated animals and a Chicken McCruelty T-shirt."Kids deserve to be told the truth and we really do need to give them credit," she says.

"The bottom line is that they've really seen much worse in movies and videogames, and we all know that kids empathize with animals."McDonald's told Slashfood that it expects the humane treatment of animals from its suppliers. Our goal has always been to lead the industry by bringing about improvements in animal welfare including rigorous, ongoing audits of our suppliers' facilities.

"McDonald's works with leading independent animal welfare experts and makes decisions based upon science to promote continuous improvement in animal welfare as part of our broader sustainable supply chain initiatives," Bob Langert, McDonald's vice president of corporate social responsibility, says in a statement to Slashfood.

"McDonald's continues to support our chicken suppliers' use of both controlled atmosphere stunning (CAS) and electrical stunning. There is no conclusive scientific consensus that one practice is better than the other, however, we recognize that in either method, good management practices are critical," he says.

"It is also important to note that in the U.S., there are no large-scale chicken producers that currently use the CAS method, therefore demands to purchase chickens from this method to meet McDonald's supply needs are not viable." PETA says it worked with McDonald's behind the scenes from 2000 to February 2009 before it re-instituted its McCruelty campaign. A PETA protest was expected Friday afternoon at a restaurant in South Burlington, Vt.

Violence At Townhall - Against A Conservative; Six Arrested, Including a Reporter

We have some video of the attack. It appears that it is members of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) doing at least some of the dirty work.

But it's conservatives who engage in violence and hate speech, right?

The Saint Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting that one of their own, reporter Jake Wagman, was one of six people arrested in connection with the beating of a conservative activist outside of a town hall forum held by Democrat Congressman Russ Carnahan.

According to Dawn Majors, a Post-Dispatch photojournalist who witnessed everything unfold, an officer said that Wagman had been "interfering."

From the article:

Kenneth Gladney, a 38-year-old conservative activist from St. Louis, said he was attacked by some of those arrested as he handed out yellow flags with “Don't tread on me” printed on them. He spoke to the Post-Dispatch from the emergency room of the St. John's Mercy Medical Center, where he said he was waiting to be treated for injuries to his knee, back, elbow, shoulder and face that he suffered in the attack. Gladney, who is black, said one of his attackers, also a black man, used a racial slur against him before the attack started.
"It just seems there's no freedom of speech without being attacked,"
he said.

That is some list of injuries, which means it must have been some beating.
And Gladney says he was attacked by "some of those arrested," which means
there were probably more in the mob than just that.
And let us not overlook nor forget the racial slur Gladney additionally endured.

More
from the article:

Two of those were arrested on suspicion of assault, one of resisting arrest and three on suspicion of committing peace disturbances.

To be very fair, Wagman of the Post-Dispatch could have simply been in the way while trying to shoot video of the assault; the article does not say.

We'll see how widely this is reported by the Lamestream Media, as it certainly fails to fit into their Conservative Haters template.

Cornyn worried White House collecting personal data

@ 1:30 pm by Eric Zimmermann

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.) is worried that the White House will use a new media outreach program to collect the personal data of its political opponents.

Yesterday, the White House asked supporters to forward "fishy" claims or rumors about the President's healthcare plan to a White House email address as a way to respond to "disinformation."

Cornyn says this practice would let the White House collect personal information about people who oppose the President.

"By requesting citizens send 'fishy' emails to the White House, it is inevitable that the names, email, addresses, IP addresses and private speech of U.S. citizens will be reported to the White House," Cornyn wrote in a letter to Obama. "You should not be surprised that these actions taken by your White House staff raise the specter of a data collection program."

Cornyn asked Obama to cease the program immediately, or at the very least explain what the White House would do with the information it collects.

"I am not aware of any precedent for a President asking American citizens to report their fellow citizens to the White House for pure speech that is deemed 'fishy' or otherwise inimical to the White House's political interests," Cornyn said.

Read the full letter here.

Be sure to read the letter Senator Cornyn wrote. Maybe Obama can understand something so simple.

The Flag and the Father

Tuesday, August 04, 2009
By Joshua Rhett Miller A promise is a promise.

A California dad is refusing to take down the tattered and torn American flag that's been flying on his lawn in Fresno for almost a year, despite complaints from neighbors on his military-heavy block and from a national veterans group that says he's mistreating the Stars and Stripes.

Even passersby have phoned Louis Haros, demanding that he take down his weather-beaten flag immediately.

But Haros, a Vietnam veteran, told his son last September that he'd wave that flag until he comes home from Iraq.

And a promise is a promise.

"I made a promise to him that it won't come down until he's home," Haros told FOXNews.com on Tuesday. "Well, it's still there. I feel if I bring it down and something happens to him … I don't know."

Paul Haros is already back on U.S. soil after his second tour in Iraq. He and his dad spoke yesterday when he landed in Wisconsin to undergo medical checks and to relinquish his weapons. But Louis Haros says the flag won't come down until Paul returns to Fresno.

"I told him this flag protected me in Vietnam and I will see that it protects you," said Haros, a former master sergeant in the U.S. Army. "In a normal situation, I would've brought it down a long time ago."

Corporal Paul Haros is expected to be back home by Friday after two tours in Iraq as a member of the Army Reserve and a tour with the 82nd Airborne Division in Operation Desert Storm.

It won't be soon enough for some of Haros' neighbors, who see no reason to wait any longer to play taps for the flag.

"I understand why the gentleman is doing it, but it's in tatters," neighbor John Southward told FOXNews.com. "I fly my flag every day."

But Southward, a former Navy signalman, said he also found it "appalling" that Haros' son had been in Iraq long enough for the flag to become so raggedy.

"To me, that's appalling," Southward said. "I wish Mr. Haros and his son the very best, I really do."

Another neighbor, Bryan Walters Sr., was so moved about the condition of the flag that he confronted Haros and then dropped off a new one.

"I'd been watching that flag fall apart," Walters, a Navy veteran, told the Fresno Bee. "It had been getting more and more tattered every day, and it was just breaking my heart."

Ryan Gallucci, a spokesman for AMVETS, a group of 180,000 U.S. veterans, said while it's a "dicey" situation, the organization would prefer that Haros stop flying the tattered flag.

"It's a national symbol and not just a symbol of one soldier's sacrifice," Gallucci told FOXNews.com. "We would advocate he replace it with a serviceable flag out of respect for those who have gone before."

Gallucci acknowledged that Haros was flying the flag for the "right reason," but he suggested that he properly retire it in an appropriate fashion.

According to U.S. Code, an American flag should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning, when it is "no longer a fitting emblem for display."

Haros said he intends to bring the flag down as soon as his son comes home. He's "definitely" surprised by the complaints he and his wife have received from neighbors and even strangers who drive by and later call their home.

"Once they understand the reason behind what's going on, they get it," Haros said. "But nobody can actually be in the shoes of the individual until you stand in them. It was a promise I made to my son. If something happened to him, how could I live with that?"

Still, the negative attention brought on by the flag has Haros' wife getting anxious.

"She's saying she doesn't want to get any more heat," he said of the multiple phone calls they receive each day. "It's really turned into something."

What would you do? Should there be "certain circumstances" for which an American flag can be flown?

THE CELLAR HOUSE PLANTATION

Lots of us like scary things and stories of the super natural. Today while I was just browsing the internet I found this website about the Cellar House. If you have lived in Pocomoke any length of time there is no doubt you have heard the frightening tales that surrounds this property.

Many years ago, and for a short time, my dad was grounds keeper at the Cellar House. One day he came home and could tell me about the "girl" he saw in a window upstairs of this old plantation house. Then, "suddenly," he told me, "she was gone". Now I know my dad was not lying to me or teasing me. Even though he was that kind of guy I knew this day he knew what he saw. At that time the owners were only there occasionally so it could not have been one of them but maybe a "tenant" from long ago.

If you have traveled the Pocomoke River at all by boat you have, no doubt, seen this beautiful home. Here's just a little of what I read on the website.

Home to The Graham family of Maryland’s Eastern Shore and a handful ghosts from the eighteenth century, Cellar House Plantation stands to tell the tales of folklore and legends of days past.

The original Cellar House dates back to a land grant from Lord Baltimore in 1666. It is said to have been built by a French sea captain for his bride. The captain incorporated uncommon refinements for the area such as full paneling in the great room and great room chamber, and elaborate cornices and chair rails throughout the house.

As the story goes, this sea captain returned early from one of his expeditions to find his new bride pregnant with a local man from Pocomoke City. Outraged, he banished her from the house. Months later, she returned by raft with her baby to beg her husband for forgiveness. The raft overturned near Cellar House and the baby drowned. She swam to shore and when her husband saw her, he dragged her up to the master bedroom and stabbed her to death. Knowing that he would be hung for this macabre crime, he fled.

Tiger Woods Cuts One

Wind grabbed everyone's attention at the Buick Open on Sunday. Not Mother Nature's wind; Tiger Woods' wind. While Tiger was deep in concentration on the 18th hole, microphones caught the unmistakable sound of a loud fart.

After Tiger's alleged toot, he and his caddie chuckled and looked to the crowd. Were they looking at the source of the flatulence? Or were they pulling the oldest trick in the book and pointing the blame? Claiming copyright infringement, CBS and the PGA are ripping (no pun intended) these videos off line. While they do the dirty work, Woods has remained silent about the indiscretion. Just remember Tiger: He who denied it, supplied it.

Obama Touts Electric Car Plan, Stimulus

Will this FOOL ever stop? Does he think the American people can just sh!t out the money for all these liberal socialist programs?

President Barack Obama says Indiana factories "are coming back to life," earning cheers as he returned to an economically struggling region to sell his costly stimulus plan.
Obama announced Wednesday in Indiana that the stimulus is now providing $2.4 billion in taxpayer grants to create electric cars — and tens of thousands of jobs. He said Indiana is the second-largest recipient of these grants.

He spoke from the factory floor of Monaco RV, purchased in June by Navistar International Corp. after its previous owner went bankrupt because of the collapse in the recreational vehicle industry. Indiana's Elkhart-Goshen area had an unemployment rate of 16.8 percent in June. That's up 10 percentage points from last year. It's also higher than it was when Obama visited in February.

As Congress breaks for the summer, the public message war is on. Obama wants to persuade Americans that his economic agenda is working but also that it will take time to produce the number that people really want: more jobs.

Indiana's Elkhart-Goshen area had an unemployment rate of 16.8 percent in June. That's up 10 percentage points from last year. It's also higher than it was when Obama visited in February, although the jobless rate has at least come down from 17.5 percent in May.

This is the same region where Obama made his first bolt outside the Washington beltway as president, three weeks on the job. He was lobbying for the stimulus.

The resulting $787 billion legislation included $2.4 billion to support a new generation of electric cars. The competition for the money is completed, giving Obama something concrete to offer in his return visit. The money will be split among nearly 50 projects in 25 states, with the biggest shares going to Indiana and Michigan to create job opportunities in the automotive sector.
Obama also will be selling his broader, stick-with-it message about building the foundation of a whole new economy. At stake is the kind of public support that could influence his success on related matters such as health care legislation, as Republican criticism mounts and public skepticism of the stimulus looms.

Obama's trip comes as signs of an economic recovery have started to emerge in key areas such as housing and manufacturing.

But jobs are the key to success — for individuals, for families, for politicians — and those haven't been returning yet.

Overall, unemployment in the United States hit 9.5 percent in June, the highest level in 26 years.

New monthly numbers come out Friday, and the White House has been trying for weeks to set expectations that joblessness will worsen before it gets better.

Obama previewed the next jobs report this way: "It's likely to show that we're still continuing to lose far too many jobs. As far as I'm concerned, we won't have a recovery until every American who wants a job can find one. But history does show that you need to have economic growth before you have job growth."

And on that front, there is some positive news.

The economy shrank at a 1 percent rate in the April-to-June second quarter, new figures show — another contraction, but a sharp upgrade from the 6.4 percent slumps in the first quarter and a 5.4 percent decline in the fourth quarter of 2008.

The president says the progress is due in part to the stimulus effort. Republicans have taken whacks at the stimulus for weeks, contending that it was not worth the cost and has not produced results as the nation keeps shedding jobs each month.

The American public is still uneasy. A total of 79 percent of people describe the economy as "poor," according to an AP-GfK Poll.

And Obama's approval rating on the economy is now at 50 percent, the same poll found, down from 58 percent in April.

The last time Obama was in the Elkhart area, he said, "Recovery will likely be measured in years, not weeks or months."

Still, the White House is sensitive to the fact that people measure progress in terms of their daily lives.

Of the new grants, $1.5 billion will go to the production of batteries and their components; $500 million will go for other components needed for the cars, like electric motors; and $400 million will go toward plug-in hybrid cars, training for technicians and related costs.
