Walmart Theft Case Postponed In Worcester County

Delmarvanow.com

SNOW HILL — The criminal motions trial for the woman charged with several counts of theft and theft scheme for allegedly conning the Pocomoke City Walmart has been postponed until next week.

Tia Johnson, 30, of the 2400 block of Worcester Highway, allegedly created false returns and would under-ring merchandise when friends and family were in the store, according to police documents. She is charged with theft less than $100, theft less than $1,000, theft scheme less than $1,000 and theft scheme from $1,000 to $10,000.

Johnson’s criminal motions trial was postponed, because her lawyer was reportedly in a car accident Wednesday morning. Motions are expected to completed on June 7.

It appears that the house on Worcester Highway where Tia used to live is now vacant.

Is that her name? I have seen her at the customer service desk and at the check outs in Walmart before and I've seen her quite alot of times in Salisbury for some years now. Not long ago at the Golden Corral. She's always with some unsavory looking characters.

" The criminal motions trial "
What's that supposed to mean? I've never heard of a "criminal motions trial."
I doubt if anyone has ever heard of it since there is no such thing.
The Daily Times has really gotten bad with their reporting.

a criminal motions trial is when her attorney moves to suppress evidence in a case. Since Tia already admitted to theft the motion was going to be withdrawn. Hopefully the June 7th trial will continue with no postponments. Fyi..just because you have never heard of something doesnt mean it doesnt exist.

Anon 6:59- FYI.....The correct term is "criminal motions HEARING", not trial. Another FYI.....There is NO such thing as a "criminal motions TRIAL"-end of story!

"Fyi..." Criminal motion hearings are held for a number of reasons, not just to suppress evidence.
