    March 22, 2014 -  at approximately 1459 hours, Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the area of George Island Landing Rd and Greenbackville Road, Stockton, Worcester County, Maryland, for a report of an intoxicated driver, involving a hit and run crash.  It was reported that a white van struck a mailbox on George Island Landing Road, and continued driving.  Deputies observed the mailbox and determined that the mailbox was hit, but no damage was done to the mailbox.
 

While en-route to the scene Deputies observed a white van matching the vehicle description, at a residence on George Island Landing Road.  Deputies made contact with the driver, later identified as Jeffery Dean Hillman, 53, of Stockton Maryland, who was still seated in the driver’s seat.  Upon contact with Hillman, Deputies detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle and on Mr. Hillman’s breath.  Mr. Hillman was then asked to perform field sobriety tests.  Based on Mr. Hillman’s performance of the field sobriety tests, Mr. Hillman was placed under arrest and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Mr. Hillman was later released on Maryland Uniform Traffic Citations.
 
March 24, 2014 -  at approximately 1321 hours, a Deputy with the Worcester County Sheriff's Office stopped to assist a motorist who had broken down in the area of Racetrack Road and Worcester Highway in Berlin, Worcester County, Maryland.  A driver's license and wanted check on a occupant in the vehicle, who was identified as Andrew Foster Cogar, 33, of Dagsboro, Delaware revealed that he was wanted on an outstanding Bench Warrant for Failing to appear on a Driving While Suspended case. 
 
Mr. Cogar was into custody and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner where he was released on his personal recognizance.
