Oh yea!! I get to make some more snow cream, and snow shake mmmmm, mmmmm, good.
1 gallon of fresh snow
1 egg
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup condensed milk (cream)
4 tsp real vanilla (or to taste I like it heavy)
1/2 tsp brown sugar
1 pinch table salt
beat the egg vanilla and cream well, add the sugars and salt and mix.
add the snow 2 cups at a time and mix well, add more snow for desired consistency or if it's to thick add equal parts of cream and sugar to desired consistency and taste.
For the snow shake, just put the prepared snow cream in a blender and blend on high until it will move through a straw.
Enjoy

Oh Shoot! I wish I knew about this before the snow started. I don't have any cream. I wonder if just plain old regular milk would work? It probably would work, but not taste as good.
I have never seen this recipe before but I would say regular milk would be fine. Snow cream just won't be as creamy.
yea, I've done it with whole milk but it's not as good but it's ok
if you use whole milk, add some powdered sugar, about 1/2 cup

Shhhhhhh!! that's because that's my secrete recipe handed down from 1000 generations of snow-creme experts that traveled the Tundra by foot just to get the perfect snow.
Barefoot too. Right?
Wouldn't the brown sugar make it look like "yellow" snow?
Just curious.

yes, bare-foot and it was up-hill .... both ways.
the brown sugar just leaves little specks in the snow-cream kinda like the bean specks in Bryers
I remember in the "old days" mother would save plastic bread bags for days just as this. When we wanted to go play in the snow, we would put on our shoes, then the bread bags and then our red boots with buckles. The plastic bags made the boots slide over the shoes better.
Wouldn't the specks from the brown sugar look like you used dirty snow? Just kidding. I'm going to try it. But first I need some snow!!
Snow cream made with this recipe with brown sugar must resemble the icecream dessert "Mud".
it doesn't really change the color, it will still come out looking yellow, the vanilla changes it more than the Brown sugar
