On February 23, 2013 at approximately 1358 hrs Pocomoke City Police responded to a call for Domestic Assault. Upon arrival Police observed the suspect holding the victim against her will in the stairwell of the home. Police ordered the suspect to allow the victim to come down the stairs in which he refused. At that time police observed the suspect throw a knife down the hallway. As the Police were attempting to arrest the suspect he began resisting, after a short struggle the suspect was apprehended and placed in the Police vehicle.

 

Upon interviewing the victim, police learned she and the suspect ensued in a verbal argument which became physical as he put her in a rear neck choke several times during the struggle. The victim states she attempted to leave the home several times but; was not able to as the suspect was holding her upstairs against her will. At one point during the struggle the victim stated the suspect pulled out a knife, grabbed her by her jacket and attempted to stab her in the chest area with the knife. The victim was able to move to avoid being stabbed.

Police then interviewed all of the witnesses at the scene.

Arrested was Andrew R. Miller, age 23 of Pocomoke City. Miller was charged with the following:

Assault 1st Degree

Assault 2nd Degree

Reckless Endangerment

False Imprisonment

Resist/Interfere with Arrest

Fail to Obey a Lawful Order

Miller was held at the Worcester County Detention Center on $500,000 bond pending trial.

Suspects Arrested For Robbery

According to Sheriff Todd Godwin, on Tuesday, November 20th at approximately 8:21 p.m., the Accomack County Sheriffs Office received a report of an armed robbery at the Stop-n-Shop Convenience Store in Painter, Virginia. Taken from the business was an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise. No injury was sustained during the robbery and further investigation led to the identity of several males who were charged with this crime.

Ricky M. Drummond, age 22 of Painter, was arrested November 23 on two counts of robbery, one count of use of firearm in commission of a felony, and one count of possession of firearm by convicted felon. He is incarcerated in the Accomack County Jail with bond denied.

Jonathan P. Belote, age 18 of Painter, was arrested November 24 on two counts of robbery and one count of use of firearm in commission of a felony. He is incarcerated in the Accomack County Jail with bond denied.

Antonio L. Brown, age 22 of Painter, was arrested November 27 on two counts of robbery. He is incarcerated in the Accomack County Jail with bond denied.

The Accomack County Sheriffs Office was assisted by the Virginia State Police and the Virginia Marine Police.

On August 17, 2012 at 5:59 am., a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was dispatched for a disorderly subject at the Lake Haven Trailer Park in Berlin, Maryland. As the Deputy pulled into the trailer park and exited his patrol vehicle, the suspect, James Conroy, 38 years of age from Baltimore Maryland, began aggressively running directly toward the Deputy. The Deputy ordered Mr. Conroy to stop who refused to comply with any orders and continued to run at the Deputy. The Deputy shot Mr. Conroy with his tazer in an attempt to protect himself. The tazer had no effect on Mr. Conroy. Mr. Conroy then began to assault the Deputy.

A short time later, members of the Maryland State Police, Berlin Police Department and Ocean Pines Police Department arrived on scene. Mr. Conroy continued to fight with officers and Deputy and was eventually taken into custody. The Deputy and two additional officers were treated and released at Atlantic General Hospital for minor injuries.

Mr. Conroy was subsequently charged with assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct, and held on a $50,000.00 bond. It was subsequently determined that Mr. Conroy was allegedly under the influence of PCP.

On August 19, 2012, at approximately 1129 hours, A Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy stopped a vehicle for a seatbelt violation on Rt. 50 in the area of Keyser Pt. Rd. in West Ocean City. The driver was identified as James Paul Kimble 27 of Pasadena Md. and the passenger was identified as Gaberille Marie Fitzgerald 22 of Baltimore Md. Upon making contact with the occupants the Deputy could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana.

Ms. Fitzgerald stated that there was marijuana and a “bowl” in her bag in the trunk of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle produced suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Mr. Kimble was charged with possession drug paraphernalia. Ms. Fitzgerald was charged with possession drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Both subjects were released pending trial.

On 08/21/2012 at approximately 0019 hours, Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies stopped a vehicle on Ocean Highway at Old Virginia Rd, Pocomoke City, Maryland for an equipment violation.

After searching the vehicle Deputies discovered a loaded Smith and Wesson .40 Caliber handgun, approximately one pound of marijuana, and $517.47 of US currency.

Arrested were, Loronda Weathers, age 24, of Norfolk Virginia and Dewayne Walker, age 30, of Nassawadox Virginia. Both subjects have been charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle, and Possession of a firearm while committing a drug trafficking crime.

Both subjects are being held at the Worcester County Jail on $5,000.00.

05/01/2012 While conducting routine patrol in the area of Fifth Street and Young Street Pocomoke City Police observed a vehicle traveling with an inoperative tail light. Upon stopping the vehicle, the Officer was notified the operator’s license was Suspended. Arrested was Shadae Harmon, age 18 of Pocomoke MD. She was issued a citation for Driving on a Suspended license and released.

05/02/2012 Pocomoke City Police received a call for a fight in progress in the 200 block of Laurel Street. Upon arrival Police observed three people walking away from the area. As Officers approached the individuals they became belligerent and started yelling profanities towards the Officers. Arrested was Kane Cottman, age 23 of Pocomoke MD. Cottman was charged with intentionally harm/threaten/damage property with the intent to retaliate against a victim or witness for giving testimony in an official proceeding. Also, arrested was Keith Gray, age 21 of Pocomoke MD. Gray was charged with Disorderly Conduct.

05/07/2012 Pocomoke City Police arrested Justin Curtis, age 21 of Pocomoke MD. Curtis was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia. Curtis is pending trial.

05/05/2012 While conducting radar detail in the area of Eighth Street Pocomoke City Police observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed through the area. Police initiated a traffic stop, upon contact with the operator Police learned her license was Suspended. Arrested was Jennifer Hughes, age 21 of Westover MD.

05/08/2012 Pocomoke City Police received a complaint in reference to violation of an interim protection order. Upon arrival Police made contact with the victim of the order who advised she was having problems with the defendant of the protection order. The suspect has returned to her residence after being served the interim protection order and was escorted off of the property. Arrested was Dennis Howell, age 25 of Pocomoke MD.

05/08/2012 Pocomoke City Police arrested Derrick Collick, age 22 of Philadelphia PA. Collick was charged with 2nd degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment and 1st degree Assault. The charges were related to an incident that occurred on April 9, 2012. Collick was held at the Worcester County Detention Center on $75,000 bond.

05/11/2012 While conducting patrol on Route 13, Pocomoke City Police observed a vehicle travel over the white center lines of the highway several times. Upon contact with the operator of the vehicle Police could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage upon his breath. After further field sobriety tests were conducted and failed. Arrested was Jonathan Hernandez, age 45 of Salisbury, MD. Hernandez was charged with Driving Vehicle While Impaired by Alcohol, Driving Vehicle Under the Influence and other traffic related citations.

05/11/2012 While conducting Seatbelt Enforcement detail in the area of Market Street, Pocomoke City Police observed an individual not wearing their seatbelt. Upon contact with the operator Police learned their license was Suspended. Arrested was Joseph Nelson, age 21 of Snow Hill MD.

05/14/2012 While conducting radar detail in the area of Route 13 & Sheep-house Road; Police observed a vehicle traveling 70 mph in a 55mph zone. Upon stopping the vehicle Police learned the operator’s license was Suspended. Arrested was Darrell Martin, age 53 of Cambridge MD. He was charged with Driving on a Suspended License.

05/17/2012 While conducting routine traffic detail in the area of Linden Avenue; Police were alerted from their License Plate Reader of a Suspended Driver. After comparing the photos from MVA to the License Plate reader the Officer was able to positively identify the driver. Upon contact with the operator police verified their license was suspended. Arrested was Marcus Hamilton, age 28 of Deal Island MD.

05/17/2012 Pocomoke City Police received a call for Theft of cab services rendered. Upon contact with the victim Police learned the cab driver transported the suspect from Fruitland MD to Pocomoke City. The suspect tried to exit the cab without paying his required fare. Arrested was Michael Edmondson, age 22 of Beltsville, MD.

05/17/2012 Pocomoke City Police received a complaint in reference to drug activity in the area of Fourth & Second Street. Upon arrival Police observed the vehicle matching the description given by the complainant. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle. Upon contact with the driver Police could detect an odor of alcohol upon his breath. The suspect was given several field sobriety tests which were all failed. Arrested was Jeffrey Myers, age 47 of Pocomoke MD.

05/18/2012 While conducting traffic detail in the area of Route 13 & Ocean Highway; Pocomoke City Police stopped a vehicle for failing to move their vehicle in the far lane while the Officers vehicle was on the side of the road as required by the State of Maryland. Police initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. Upon contact with the driver Police learned their license was Suspended. Arrested was Maria Curtis, age 25 of Mount Holly, NJ.

05/19/2012 While conducting routine Patrol in the area of Route 13 Pocomoke City Police observed a vehicle traveling with expired registration stickers. Police initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. Police made contact with the driver who stated to the Officer he did not have a license. After further investigation the Officer conducted a search of the vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle Police located a 2 inch long knife, a glassine baggie containing suspected CDS, and several other CDS Paraphernalia devices. Arrested was Donald McCall, age 52 of New Church, VA. McCall was charged with CDS Possess-NOT Marijuana, CDS Possession Paraphernalia, False Statement to Police, Driving unregistered Motor Vehicle, Driving uninsured Motor Vehicle, and other traffic charges. McCall was held on $5,000 bond. David Dickerson, age 39 of Mappsville VA was charged with CDS Possess-NOT Marijuana and Eddie Savage, age 48 of New Church VA was charged with CDS Possess-NOT Marijuana.

05/21/2012 While conducting routine traffic detail; Pocomoke City Police observed an operator driving without a seatbelt. Upon stopping the vehicle the Officer learned the operator had a Suspended License. Arrested was IBN Brown, age 28 of Newark New Jersey.

05/23/2012 While conducting routine patrol Pocomoke City Police observed a vehicle traveling with expired registration stickers. Upon stopping the vehicle the Officer learned the driver had a suspended license. Arrested was Harry Johnston, age 59 of Atlantic VA.

05/26/2012 Pocomoke City Police responded to Fourth Street Pocomoke City to attempt to serve an Arrest Warrant for Baltimore County. Upon arrival Police located the suspect; the Warrant was confirmed for Failure to Appear. Arrested was Jeraldine Narman, age 47 of Jacksonville FL.


05/28/2012 Pocomoke City Police received a call to respond to the area of 1018 Lynnhaven Drive for a Violation of Protection Order. Upon arrival Police learned the victim had obtained a Protection Order for the suspect to stay away from her and her residence. The suspect continued to call and text her as well as come to her residence. Arrested was Terrance Gale, age 29 of Pocomoke MD.

05/30/2012 Approximately 1930hrs, Members of the Pocomoke City Police Department, Criminal Enforcement Team & The Worcester County States Attorney Office executed a search and seizure Warrant at 1902 North Old Mill Drive, Pocomoke City MD. Arrested was Toan Chi Huynh age 26 of Pocomoke City, MD. The following items were recovered from Mr. Huynh residence:

- 1,207 grams of Marijuana (High Grade)
- 61 grams of Powder MDMA
- 16 tablets of Ecstasy MDMA
- Various items of paraphernalia to include commercial heat sealer and scale
- $1,075 in US Currency
- 2 Flat screen TV’s
- 2007 Honda Civic
- Other miscellaneous documents
Huynh was charged with the following charges:- Possession of Marijuana
- Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana
- Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana (School Zone)
- Possession with intent to distribute powder MDMA/Molle
- Possession with intent to distribute powder/Molle (School Zone)
- Possession of Ecstasy/MDMA

Some Indicted In the Summer Drug Sweep Receive Their Sentence in Circuit Court

Honis W. Cane, III charged with counterfeit cocaine!!  WOW!  Wonder how he looks now in the drug world!!!  Looks like quite a few of these dealers have not been charged with the "lesser " of possession! - which is a pet peeve with so many people - but are looking at some time to be spent behind bars.  Most times these criminals get a slap on the wrist, a fine and sent out the front door!!  Not this time!!!

SNOW HILL -- A Pocomoke City man arrested in a major drug dealing sweep now faces charges that he was selling fake cocaine.

Honiss Webster Cane III, 40, of Pocomoke City was indicted on charges of cocaine possession and distribution along with 44 others in a midsummer sting in southern Worcester County. However, his drug charges have since been dropped, and Cane now faces charges of distribution of counterfeit cocaine. Cane is the son of the late Pocomoke City councilman of the same name.

Several others arrested in that law enforcement initiative have recently struck plea deals with prosecutors.

For several dozen more, trials are still pending between now and December.

Nine of the men agreed to plead guilty to cocaine distribution, and three agreed to plead guilty to distribution of a controlled dangerous substance in a school zone. Some were given fines and probation time by a judge, while others were sentenced to straight time, some as long as 10 years, and they'll be on probation after release.

Several of the men had other drug charges dropped when securing their plea deals.

Those indicted in the sweep who have pleaded guilty to crack or cocaine distribution charges, and have been sentenced in Circuit Court, are:

Joshua Pitts, 43, of Snow Hill, sentenced to 10 years.

Jamon Byrd, 27, of Snow Hill, sentenced to six years.

Martel Costen, 27, of Pocomoke City sentenced to six years and a $500 fine.

Clinton Waters, 39, of Snow Hill sentenced to five years and a $500 fine.

Stefan Allen, 31, of Snow Hill sentenced to 18 months and a $500 fine.

Breon Ayres, 20, of Pocomoke City sentenced to 18 months and a $500 fine.

Richard Williams, 36, of Pocomoke City sentenced to 18 months and a $500 fine.

Larry Davis, 21, of Snow Hill, sentenced to 18 moths and a $500 fine.

Earl Tull, 47, of Snow Hill sentenced to six months and a $250 fine.

Pleading guilty to distributing drugs near a school were Donald Sturgis, 29, of Pocomoke City; Antonio Wise, 39, of Pocomoke City; and Gabriel Hayes, 35, of Pocomoke City. Their sentences ranged from six to 10 years.

Virginia Drug Bust

To the Virginia State Police, Virginia Marine Resources Commission, the DEA and the fantastic sheriff's departments of this great Eastern Shore THANK YOU! for what you have accomplised in the attempt to keep our neighborhoods free of drugs.

The interesting person in all of this is another ringleader arrested on federal drug charges is Bryant E. Planter, address listed as Hebron, MD., currently serving a prison sentence of 19 1/2 years.

We at the PPE have done a little investigating ourselves and it seems that Planter did purchase properties (with drug money) in Pocomoke City, Maryland. Some purchases were made also with his wifes name included.

Properties purchased by Planter:

2000 Second Street

2002 Oak Street

2003 Laurel Street (A second home was nearly destroyed by fire in June 2010)

Planter, at the age of 30, purchased these dwellings (above) with $300,000 CASH.

If you keep looking one can figure what he did to hide the fact he was a big time ringleader in drugs.

Using and reporting the rent as income, more than likely, Planter was able to secure loans to purchase other properties. It would be no surprise if Planter wasn't funneling drug money through these rented properties somehow and claiming it as income from rent.

Some of these properties were listed in a tax sale in May of this year.

The exact house numbers are not listed because it is not known if the homes are occupied. Going through the list of those arrested in Pocomoke recently we could find only one that lived at one of these addresses.

We found NO evidence that Planter purchased any real estate business in Pocomoke. NONE

He did start his OWN real estate holding company using a Snow Hill address  to cover his drug actions.

Planter also owes Accomack County $9,354.00 in personal property taxes as of October 10, 2010.
　
These types of people are NO JOKE and NO laughing matter. They mingle among us and without a trained eye we never see what might be going on in our own home town. The chore to track them down and unwind their actions is long and tedious.

This is why investigations sometimes take years. And this is why we sometimes think the authorities are not looking and not listening. Unless one knows what to look for there is no way to tell. Planter purchased properties in Pocomoke City without raising an eyebrow. Not because anyone was stupid or allowed him to do so........These people know what they are up to.

Dozens Arrested In Huge Drug Sweep

To the Worcester County State's Attorney's Office and ALL law enforcement agencies involved in this long over do task THANKYOU!! 

SNOW HILL – Worcester County authorities indicted 44 people over the weekend, wrapping a broad six-month drug distribution investigation in Snow Hill and Pocomoke City.

The Worcester County Criminal Enforcement Team executed nine drug-related search and seizure warrants. Police took two juveniles and 38 others, ranging in age from 19 to 55, into custody. Most arrests were related to crack cocaine possession or distribution. The sum of all their bonds comes to $2.83 million.


Authorities say the goal of the operation was to have “an immediate and major impact” on all levels of drug dealers. Eight more people who were indicted remain at large, police said. The Worcester County State's Attorney's office announced the indictments and arrests.


Among the 38 people arrested were:

• Honiss Webster Cane, 40, of Pocomoke City, charged with three counts of drug possession and distribution. Bond: $150,000.
• Javon Tyree Schoolfield, 25, of Pocomoke City, charged with eight counts, including cocaine possession, distribution and conspiracy to sell drugs. Bond: $200,000.
• Gabriel Devon Hayes, 34, of Pocomoke City, charged with five counts, including possession with intent to distribute in a school zone. Bond: $200,000.
• Antonio Lopez Wise, 39, of Pocomoke City, charged with 10 drug counts. Bond: $150,000.
• Jamon Keith Byrd, 27, of Snow Hill, charged with three drug offenses. Bond: $200,000.

Police said the following people were still wanted in connection with the investigation:

• Gerry Marshall Laws, Pocomoke.
• Torrance Demar Davis, Horntown, Va.
• Kelvin Knock, New Church, Va.

Arrest Made For Drug and Deadly Weapon Possession

POCOMOKE CITY — A state trooper who stopped a man walking in Pocomoke at about 2 a.m. on June 5 found a device that had been used to ingest crack cocaine and a concealed knife, police said.

Ronnie Lee Collins, 52, of the 400 block of Market Street in Snow Hill, was stopped for a pedestrian violation, according to a Maryland State Police statement. When Collins made furtive movements near his waistband, police said, he was searched, and a knife tucked under his waistband was found.

Collins was arrested, police said; during a search after his arrest, police reportedly found a smoking device containing suspected burnt crack cocaine. He was charged with having a concealed deadly weapon and drug possession.

One Of Virginia's Most Wanted Nabbed By Md. State Police

ABERDEEN, MD) – A Maryland state trooper was forced to use his patrol car to end a multi-jurisdictional pursuit and capture a fugitive who tried to run down deputies this afternoon in Harford County.

The accused is identified as Brandon L. Pegram, 23, of Stoney Creek, Va. Prior to the pursuit this afternoon, he was wanted for robbery, felony assault, and kidnapping. He is now being charged by Maryland State Police with first and second degree assault, vehicle theft, reckless endangerment, malicious destruction of property, and numerous traffic violations.


Shortly before 3:00 p.m. today,(Wednesday) the Harford County Sheriff's Office received a lookout from the United State's Marshal's Service for a stolen silver Ford Taurus driven by Pegram, who was believed to be armed with a handgun and shotgun. Pegram reportedly held his family hostage yesterday and had allegedly threatened to harm any law enforcement officers who attempted to apprehend him.

Sheriff's deputies spotted the vehicle at Rt. 40 and Gateway Drive and a pursuit ensued that continued into Baltimore County, where troopers from the Bel Air Barrack joined the pursuit, along with Baltimore County police officers. The pursuit continued onto Whitemarsh Blvd., then to northbound I-95.

Just before the entrance to the Maryland House on I-95, the suspect attempted to ram citizen vehicles. Two sheriff's deputies were on foot after deploying stop sticks. Pegram nearly struck the first deputy, then lost control and traveled across I-95, nearly striking the second deputy. The suspect then appeared to deliberately drive his car directly at the second deputy, who was able to dive out of the way before being hit.
Upon observing these deliberate assaults on citizens and the deputies, a State Police sergeant used his patrol car to impact the suspect's vehicle, using a "pit maneuver" to force the suspect's vehicle to the side of the interstate and up against the guardrail. The sergeant then impacted the driver's side door of the stolen vehicle to prevent the fugitive from escaping on foot.

Police officers approached Pegram and he resisted arrest. Pegram was taken into custody, after sustaining minor injuries. He was taken to an area hospital, where he remains under State Police guard.

No firearms were found in the stolen vehicle being driven by Pegram. No one else was in the vehicle with him.

No citizens or police officers were injured in the incident. The suspect is expected to be treated and released. Upon his release, he will be taken to the Harford County Central Booking Center where he will have an initial appearance before a court commissioner.

Law enforcement agencies involved in the pursuit included the Harford County Sheriff's Office, Baltimore County Police Department, both patrol and air units, the US Marshal's Service, and state troopers from the Bel Air and JFK Memorial Highway barracks.

Questions regarding why Pegram was originally wanted should be referred to the US Marshal's Service. The investigation is continuing.

Two Arrested For Burglary and Related Charges

POCOMOKE CIT>, Md.- Two Pocomoke City men are facing burglary and related charges after being accused of stealing copper from 11 different locations throughout the city.

Pocomoke City police say that on Friday, Jan. 28, an officer on patrol in 800 block of Clarke Avenue observed two men carrying copper tubing in a bed sheet. Authorities say that when the pair noticed the officer, they abandoned the copper and entered a home.

The officer located both suspects, who after questioning were arrested for stealing copper from the following locations in Pocomoke City between November 2010 and January 2011:

Pocomoke City Police Make Arrests On Weapons Charges

POCOMOKE CITY -- Police said on Dec. 1 that they had arrested two people in recent days for possessing weapons it was illegal for them to have, in seperate incidents. Pocomoke officers went to a motel for a report of a man with a stolen gun on Nov. 26 and arrested Andre L. Doggett, 32, of Danville, Va. for possession of a concealed weapon, saying he was carrying a .22-caliber gun in his pocket. Police did not locate the gun reported stolen, a .45-caliber pistol, the Police Department said in a news release. Doggett was released on his own recognizance pending trial.

On Nov. 29, police said, they went to assist paramedics at a residence at 500 Young St. and learned a wanted person was hiding inside. With the homeowner's permission, police said, they entered the home and found Harvey D. Hall, 21, of Pocomoke City, who was wanted for violating probation. Police also found a .22-caliber pistol there, police said, and Hall was additionally charged with possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. He was held on $40,000 bond.

Three From Pocomoke Arrested For Stealing From Local Business

POCOMOKE CITY, Md.- Three suspects are facing charges after being accused of stealing dozens of vehicle tire rims from a tire business in Pocomoke City.

Christopher D. Joseph, 19, Stephen E. Petitt, 23, and Travis A. Parsons, 24, all of Pocomoke City, were each charged on a criminal summons with theft over $1,000 and conspiracy.

The arrests stemmed from an incident alleged to have occurred at Nock's Tire on Ocean Highway during the overnight hours of Nov. 30. According to detectives with the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation, the three suspects stole 25 vehicle tire rims from the business.

Man Shoots TV With Shot Gun Over Bristol Palin's Dance Routine

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - A rural Wisconsin man apparently enraged by Bristol Palin's "Dancing with the Stars" routine blasted his television with a shotgun, leading to an all-night standoff with a SWAT team, investigators said.

Steven Cowan, 67, was arrested Tuesday morning after officers coaxed him out of his house in Vermont, a rural community near Madison. Cowan, who is accused of threatening his wife with the gun after destroying the television, appeared in a Madison courtroom Wednesday on a charge of second-degree reckless endangerment. His bail was set at $1,500.

Cowan's attorney at the hearing, Jonas Bednarek, declined to comment.

Cowan's wife, Janice Cowan, told investigators that her husband suffers from bipolar disorder and had threatened her life in the past.

According to court documents, Janice Cowan said her husband came home Monday from the bar and had a beer with dinner before they settled down to watch "Dancing with the Stars."
When Palin, the 20-year-old daughter of tea party favorite Sarah Palin, began her routine, Cowan jumped up and began swearing, saying something like "The (expletive) politics." His wife said he was upset that a political figure's daughter was dancing on TV even though he felt she didn't have talent.

Janice Cowan told investigators her husband left the living room and reappeared 20 minutes later with his shotgun, "raging" with his face bright red, and blasted the TV. She said he then pointed the gun at her and told her to go fetch his pistols, and threatened to kill himself if she brought anyone back. According to the criminal complaint, Steven Cowan's daughter recently took away his handguns for safekeeping. It did not elaborate.

"He scared the bejebees out of me," she told detectives.

Janice Cowan fled the home and went to an attorney's office, where she phoned police.

She told officers that about 15 years ago her husband had threatened her with a machete when he couldn't find some ammunition and has threatened to shoot one of their cows.

She added he was under stress because of financial reasons, saying a doctor helping him with his mental health problems had suggested he temporarily turn over control of properties he rents out to the family's attorney. Calls on Wednesday to a number listed as the Cowans' could not be connected.

The Internet has been abuzz in recent days about how Bristol Palin, who has consistently landed at the bottom of the judges' leaderboard, has been able to remain on the ABC show. Some have suggested that voters - particularly supporters of her mother - have been voting in blocs and manipulating the system.

Both Palins have denied any organized vote-getting tactics. Bristol Palin says voters support her despite lackluster performances because she started the show with no dancing experience.

Two New Church Men Charged With Possession of Cocaine

SALISBURY -- Two New Church men were charged early today with cocaine possession after their vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation near the Wawa store on South Salisbury Boulevard, Maryland State Police said.

John Robert Roseboro, 35, and Rashaw Strand, 31, were arrested just after 2 a.m. after a search of their vehicle revealed a small amount of cocaine, troopers said.

The two men were transported to the Wicomico County Detention Center, where they were charged with possession of cocaine and paraphernalia, according to police.

Two Men Charged After Drug Bust In Worcester County

BERLIN — Two Worcester County residents have been charged with seven counts of drug related charges after the Berlin Police Department responded to a complaint.

Jerrell Lamont Harmon, 26, of Snow hill and Garry Bicille Waples, 54 of Berlin, were both charged with trespassing, possession with intent, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of paraphernalia.

After being called to Bay Terrace Garden Apartments, 517 Bay Street, officers observed the two allegedly arrive at the location. They officers had prior knowledge that Harmon had been barred from the property, according to police documents.

After placing Harmon under arrest for trespassing, police say, a K-9 unit searched the vehicle, resulting in the discovery of Oxycodone pills, Colonazepam pills, crack-cocaine, marijuana, Ecstasy pills and drug paraphernalia.

Feds Arrest Members Of Pagan Motorcycle Club

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (CBS/AP) Federal officials have arrested 19 members of the Pagans motorcycle gang in five states, marking one of the largest roundups of the notorious group since 2002.

Prosecutors said Wednesday that the arrests made during early morning raids in New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Massachusetts were the result of a 21-month investigation by agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, who infiltrated the biker gang's internal operations.

According to an indictment, several members of the Long Island, N.Y. chapter of the Pagans Motorcycle Club met with gang members from other divisions last Sunday in New Jersey, where they discussed plans to kill members of the rival motorcycle gang, Hells Angels.

ATF officials say the conspirators drafted a list of potential targets and were told to be prepared to die or go face time in prison for completing their mission. ATF special agent-in-charge Ronald Turk said the arrests interrupted the conspiracy before anyone was hurt.

The deep-rooted rivalry between the Pagans and Hells Angels is one rife with violence. In 2002, one Pagan member was shot and killed and at least 10 other people were injured when a confrontation erupted after Pagans members decided to crash a motorcycle expo sponsored by Hells Angels.

Seventy-three Pagans were convicted of or pleaded guilty to federal charges in that case. Turk noted that this most recent sting was the largest roundup of Pagans members on Long Island since that case eight years ago.

Authorities reportedly confiscated 34 firearms and one improvised explosive device during the raids Wednesday.

Seven of the defendants were based on Long Island, where they were ordered to be held without bail during their arraignments in U.S. District Court. Members face charges of racketeering, murder conspiracy, assault, extortion, drug distribution, witness tampering and firearms offenses.

Man Accused Of Stealing Vehicle and Avoiding Police Has Been Arrested

SNOW HILL -- The man accused of stealing an SUV from a Snow Hill area repair shop and driving it to Georgia has been arrested after avoiding police for more than a month.

Dennis J. Cross was arrested by officials from the Worcester County Sheriff's Office as he fled from a traffic stop in Berlin, police say.

The 19-year-old Greenbackville resident was in the passenger seat of a white Ford Explorer that was pulled over because of a broken headlight in late July. He allegedly quickly fled the scene, throwing a 12.5-ounce bag of suspected marijuana into the lap of the driver as he exited the vehicle. He was later found and served with additional warrants for his arrest. Cross faces charges of possession and intent to distribute resulting from the incident.

Authorities have been searching for Cross since he reportedly evaded police after being pulled over in an allegedly stolen car in Georgia. Charging documents filed in Worcester County District Court also accuse Cross of stealing a motorcycle from a Public Landing home and selling it to a man in the parking lot of McDonald's restaurant in Pocomoke City for $50.

On June 15, as he was walking around Public Landing, Cross allegedly stole the 2001 Honda Shadow, according to the documents.

"(He) was tired of walking and took the motorcycle for transportation," reads the statement of charges. Later that day, he allegedly reportedly went to Pocomoke City on the bike and picked up a friend, taking her for a ride, before selling it.

The following day, Cross and a 17-year-old, named in charging documents as Dylan Kelly, went to Chip's Auto Repair Shop on Shockley Road -- where Cross had at one time been employed -- and allegedly drove off in two SUVs from the lot, a GMC Yukon and a GMC Envoy.

"Kelly drove the 2003 GMC Yukon from the residence with Cross driving the Envoy," said the documents. "The GMC Yukon had mechanical problems and was abandoned on the shoulder of Route 113 (near Shad Landing). The two continued their trip in the Envoy."

Kelly, who is being charged as a juvenile, was arrested at a traffic stop in the Envoy in Fulton County, Ga., where he was accused of receiving stolen goods and later released. The Maryland Department of Juvenile Services also has charges against him, according to the documents.

Cross is charged with two counts of motor vehicle theft, two counts of theft, two counts of second-degree burglary and four counts of fourth-degree burglary from the incident. If found guilty of all charges, he could face up to 77 years in prison and a $35,000 fine.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled in Worcester County District Court on Aug. 27.
